Thank you for choosing Shop Getaways. We believe travel is one of life's greatest investments, and we're honored you've trusted us to help plan your vacation. These Terms & Conditions explain our role as your travel advisor, outline your responsibilities as a traveler, and describe the policies that apply to your reservation.

Effective Date: April 2022

By requesting a quote, authorizing a booking, submitting payment, or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions on behalf of yourself and all travelers included in your reservation.

About Shop Getaways

Shop Getaways Inc. is a professional travel agency specializing in premium and luxury travel, cruises, all-inclusive resorts, luxury vacations, family travel, escorted tours, river cruises, group travel, and customized itineraries.

Our role is to help you plan the vacation that best fits your travel style while providing knowledgeable advice and exceptional customer service throughout the booking process.

Although we advocate for our clients whenever possible, the travel services you purchase are ultimately provided by independent travel suppliers.

Our Role

Shop Getaways acts solely as an independent travel advisor and booking intermediary. We arrange travel services provided by third-party suppliers such as:

  • Cruise lines
  • Airlines
  • Hotels & resorts
  • Tour operators
  • River cruise companies
  • Transportation providers
  • Car rental companies
  • Travel insurance providers
  • Local excursion operators

Because these companies operate independently, Shop Getaways does not own, manage, or control their operations.

We cannot guarantee supplier pricing, availability, schedules, promotions, accommodations, or operational decisions. However, we will always do our best to advocate for you and assist in resolving issues whenever possible.

Supplier Terms & Conditions

Every reservation is also subject to the individual terms and conditions of the travel supplier(s) providing your vacation. These may include policies regarding:

  • Deposits
  • Final payments
  • Cancellations
  • Refunds
  • Change fees
  • Promotions
  • Travel documentation
  • Health requirements
  • Boarding policies
  • Baggage allowances
  • Dining, excursions, and loyalty programs

Supplier policies may change without notice and cannot be modified by Shop Getaways.

Quotes, Pricing & Availability

Travel pricing changes frequently based on supplier inventory, promotions, demand, taxes, and other factors. All quotes are subject to change until:

  • Required traveler information has been received,
  • Payment has been authorized and processed, and
  • The reservation has been confirmed by the supplier.

A quote does not hold inventory or guarantee pricing.

Likewise, promotional offers—including onboard credits, complimentary amenities, upgrades, agency incentives, and supplier promotions—may change or expire before booking is completed.

Deposits & Payments

Most travel suppliers require a deposit at the time of booking and full payment by a specified final payment date. Deposit requirements and cancellation penalties vary by supplier.

Failure to make payments by the supplier's deadline may result in cancellation of your reservation, loss of deposits, additional penalties, or forfeiture of your vacation. Shop Getaways is not responsible for reservations cancelled due to missed payment deadlines.

By providing payment information, you authorize Shop Getaways to process only those charges you have approved for your travel arrangements.

Promotions, Amenities & Repricing

Supplier promotions and agency-exclusive offers are available only while eligible and may change or expire without notice.

If your reservation is repriced after booking due to a lower fare or new promotion, you understand that previously included benefits may change or no longer apply. Depending on supplier rules, repricing may affect:

  • Onboard credit
  • Complimentary amenities
  • Beverage packages
  • Dining packages
  • Upgrades
  • Group benefits
  • Agency promotions

While a lower fare can reduce the overall cost of your vacation, it may also require replacing the original promotional package with a new one.

Whenever repricing is available, Shop Getaways will gladly explain your options so you can decide which offer provides the best overall value.

Reservation Changes & Transfers

Changes made after confirmation—including traveler names, travel dates, cabin categories, flights, hotels, or itinerary modifications—may result in supplier fees, fare increases, cancellation penalties, or loss of promotional benefits. Any applicable fees are determined by the supplier and are the traveler's responsibility.

Some suppliers allow reservations to be transferred between agencies, while others do not. Transfer eligibility, associated fees, and promotional availability are determined by the supplier and, where applicable, Shop Getaways' transfer policies.

Advisor Transfer Requests

If you request that your reservation be transferred from Shop Getaways to another travel advisor or agency after planning or booking services have been provided, a Professional Services Fee of $250 per traveler may apply to compensate for services already rendered, where permitted by law.

This fee is separate from any supplier-imposed fees or restrictions. Transfer requests remain subject to the supplier's policies and approval, and not all reservations are eligible for transfer.

Reviewing Your Reservation

Please review all confirmations and travel documents immediately upon receipt. Verify:

  • Traveler names
  • Dates of birth
  • Travel dates
  • Destinations
  • Cabin or room category
  • Flights
  • Promotions
  • Special requests

Any errors should be reported within 24 hours of receiving your confirmation.

Failure to review your reservation promptly may result in supplier-imposed fees, denied boarding, cancellation penalties, or the inability to correct errors before travel.

Passports, Visas & Entry Requirements

Each traveler is responsible for obtaining and carrying all required travel documents. Depending on your destination, this may include:

  • Passport
  • Visa
  • Government-issued identification
  • Vaccination or health documentation
  • Entry permits or customs forms

Many destinations require passports to remain valid for at least six months beyond your return date. Entry requirements can change without notice, so we encourage travelers to verify current requirements before departure through the appropriate government agencies.

Shop Getaways is not responsible for denied boarding, missed travel, or additional expenses resulting from insufficient travel documentation.

Health Requirements & Accessibility

Travelers are responsible for understanding and complying with any health requirements for their destination, including vaccinations, testing, medication regulations, or other entry requirements.

If you have mobility concerns, dietary restrictions, medical equipment, service animals, allergies, or other special needs, please notify us as early as possible.

We are happy to communicate these requests to travel suppliers; however, because accommodations are provided by independent companies, we cannot guarantee that every request can be fulfilled.

Travel Insurance

Because unexpected situations can occur before or during your vacation, Shop Getaways strongly recommends purchasing comprehensive travel insurance for every trip. Travel insurance may provide valuable protection for events such as:

  • Trip cancellation or interruption
  • Medical emergencies
  • Emergency medical transportation
  • Lost or delayed baggage
  • Travel delays
  • Weather-related interruptions
  • Supplier financial default (when covered)
  • Illness or injury before departure

Coverage varies by policy. We encourage you to review your policy carefully so you understand what is and is not covered.

If you decline travel insurance, you acknowledge that you may be personally responsible for cancellation penalties, medical expenses, travel delays, emergency transportation, and other unexpected costs that insurance may have covered.

Travel Advisories & Safety

Travel involves inherent risks that may vary by destination. We encourage all travelers to review current government travel advisories and remain informed about local conditions before and during their trip.

By choosing to travel, you accept responsibility for evaluating the risks associated with your destination. Shop Getaways cannot guarantee the safety, political stability, weather conditions, or public health circumstances of any location.

Traveler Conduct

Travelers are expected to comply with all laws, regulations, and policies established by airlines, cruise lines, hotels, resorts, government agencies, and other travel suppliers.

Suppliers reserve the right to deny boarding, refuse service, or remove travelers whose behavior is disruptive, unsafe, abusive, illegal, or otherwise violates their policies.

Any resulting expenses or penalties are the responsibility of the traveler.

During Your Trip

If you experience an issue while traveling, please notify both the travel supplier and Shop Getaways as soon as possible. Many concerns—including hotel accommodations, cruise experiences, transportation, or excursions—can often be resolved more effectively while you are still traveling rather than after your vacation has ended.

Although we cannot guarantee a particular outcome, we are committed to advocating on your behalf whenever reasonably possible.

Changes Made by Travel Suppliers

Travel suppliers reserve the right to modify or cancel travel arrangements for operational, safety, weather-related, or commercial reasons. This may include changes to:

  • Flight schedules
  • Cruise itineraries or ports
  • Hotels or accommodations
  • Ships or aircraft
  • Excursions
  • Dining venues
  • Transportation
  • Included amenities

These decisions are made solely by the travel supplier. While Shop Getaways has no control over these changes, we will communicate updates promptly and assist you in understanding the options available whenever possible.

Force Majeure

Shop Getaways is not responsible for delays, cancellations, losses, injuries, or additional expenses caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Severe weather
  • Natural disasters
  • Wildfires
  • Pandemics or public health emergencies
  • Government actions or travel restrictions
  • Civil unrest
  • Terrorism
  • Acts of war
  • Labor strikes
  • Transportation disruptions
  • Mechanical failures
  • Supplier insolvency
  • Utility outages
  • Other unforeseen events beyond our control

Travel inherently involves uncertainty, and these events may impact your itinerary without warning.

Limitation of Liability

Shop Getaways acts solely as an independent travel advisor and booking intermediary. We do not own, operate, or control the airlines, cruise lines, hotels, resorts, tour operators, transportation providers, insurance companies, or other travel suppliers providing your vacation.

Accordingly, Shop Getaways is not responsible for injury, illness, death, property damage, financial loss, delays, missed connections, itinerary changes, supplier defaults, service interruptions, or other losses arising from the acts or omissions of independent travel suppliers or circumstances beyond our control.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any rights that cannot legally be limited under applicable law.

Assumption of Risk

Travel may involve risks including illness, injury, accidents, weather events, transportation delays, criminal activity, political instability, and other unforeseen circumstances.

By choosing to travel, you voluntarily accept these inherent risks.

Payment Disputes & Chargebacks

By authorizing payment, you acknowledge that your reservation is subject to the applicable supplier's cancellation and refund policies. If you believe a billing error has occurred, please contact Shop Getaways first so we can work with you and the supplier toward a resolution.

Nothing in this Agreement limits your right to dispute fraudulent or unauthorized charges. However, if a chargeback is initiated for a valid, authorized transaction and is resolved in favor of Shop Getaways or the supplier, we reserve the right to recover reasonable costs incurred in responding to the dispute where permitted by law.

Electronic Communications & Privacy

You agree that electronic communications—including emails, invoices, payment authorizations, online forms, and electronic signatures—are valid and legally binding to the fullest extent permitted by law. By using our services, you also consent to receive reservation confirmations, invoices, travel updates, and other communications electronically.

Shop Getaways collects and shares only the personal information necessary to arrange and manage your travel with the appropriate travel suppliers, insurers, payment processors, and service providers. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure. For more details, please see our Privacy Policy.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

These Terms constitute the complete agreement between Shop Getaways and the traveler regarding the services provided and may be updated periodically. The version in effect at the time your reservation is confirmed will apply to your booking.

Acknowledgment & Acceptance

By requesting travel planning services, authorizing a reservation, submitting payment, or traveling on a reservation arranged by Shop Getaways, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions, as well as the applicable terms and conditions of the travel suppliers associated with your reservation.
